This weekend at Ben’s Canteen

It has been a remarkably busy week at the Canteen and rather excitingly we’ve added a couple of new dishes to our Winter Menu, including our British Beef Board, which plenty of people have been tweeting about – now it’s all about the eating!

Here’s our Weekend To-Do List.

  1. Try our tribute to British Beef – the British Beef Board.
  2. Tuck into what is rapidly becoming the most famous Scotch Egg in London. A rather nice chap, who may have been made in chelsea, tried it today and seems to be a fan.
  3. Come and sample our Sunday Roast and get a free bottle of wine.
  4. Book your tickets for our Sophie Michell Celebrity Chef Pop Up event on Valentine’s.
  5. Come and join us for SW London’s busiest and best brunch – we recently added Kedgeree and Porridge with Chilli & Fig compote and we’ve started serving Sipsmith Bloody Mary’s which are ace.
  6. Put a date in the diary to come to our Sambrook’s Beer Dinner and to come down and have some whisky braised Orkney beef for Burns Night.
  7. Book a table and settle in for a damned good time whilst you enjoy British food, done well.

Christmas Eve at Ben’s Canteen

Ah Christmas Eve, we love it, there is a ‘end of term’ feeling, you’ve finished work and good times lie ahead (and the fact that your family are likely to drive you mad at some stage just adds to the end of school feeling).

Crimbo Eve is also an awesome time to catch up with mates and with that in mind we’re doing brunch, dinner and lots of drinks, including our Winter Pimms Punch.

Christmas Eve at Ben's Canteen

Brunch will be kicking off at 9am, so come in for a Big Ben (our mighty Full English), Eggs Benedict, our awesome BC Burger, that’s topped with homemade corned beef to make it extra British, and plenty more including Bloody Marys and, as it’s Christmas Eve, some fizz.

We’ll be serving our new winter menu with our recently launched beer matching options from 6pm until 8pm. The bar will be open all night and after 8pm we’ll have nibbles (such as pork pies) and a lovely winter Oxtail stew.

Plus @jimmyrhodes83 will be hosting, so you’re in for some serious Christmas cheer – he is definitely Captain Christmas in the Canteen.

Beer Matching at Ben’s Canteen

At the Canteen we’re always looking for tasty new products and then we got to thinking about how cool it would be to match beers to our new winter menu… thus giving us a great excuse to bring in a whole range of great new beers!
