Christmas and New Year in Clapham Junction, Battersea and Wandsworth

The Festive Holiday Season is almost here, after partying hard it’s time to kickback, forget about work and have super merry times with family and friends.

Doubtless though there will be times that you want to break out of the house and that’s why here at Ben’s Canteen we’re opening for the majority of the holiday – so come down to the place on the hill for brunch, dinner and drinks. We’re just a few minutes away from Clapham Junction and all the local buses connect to us, so you can get here from all over SW London (Battersea, Clapham, Brixton, Putney, Wandsworth and so on) without much fuss. Oh and we’re very dog friendly, so go for that big family walk, with the hound in tow, across Wandsworth Common/Spencer Park/Clapham Common and then come and warm up in the Canteen for a full blown meal or just a little treat with a cup of tea/coffee or our mulled wine.

Don’t forget, if you book in for dinner between 5 and 7pm then you can get 2 courses for £20 and a free glass of vino. Jingle Bells!

Christmas & New Year Opening Times

Christmas Eve: Open for brunch (9am to 4pm), closing around 6pm. Join us for our Xmas Jumper Party and get a free Bloody Mary.

Christmas Day: Closed

Boxing Day: Closed

27th-30th: Open as normal, so brunch from 9am and dinner from 5pm.

New Year’s Eve: Open an normal, note we’re running our standard menu in the evening but are open until 1am. No entry fee.

New Year’s Day: Open for brunch (9am to 4pm), closing around 6pm.

2nd Jan: Open for brunch (9am to 4pm), closing around 6pm.

3rd Jan onwards: Open as normal.

The 2012 Weekend

Here at the Canteen we’re getting rather excited about the bank holiday weekend. We’re doing brunch, roasts, drinks and dinner as we aim to help you party, meet with friends, entertain/escape the family and generally enjoy the end of the festive period.

2012

During the day on New Year’s Eve we’ll be getting you warmed up and raring to go for the evening’s celebrations with brunch from 9am until 4pm. Then we’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve with a very special dinner for those who have booked in for it, for those just dropping in to line their stomachs before going out on a biggie we’ll be doing a slightly reduced dinner menu… the bar of course will be open all day and night.

On New Year’s Day we’re here to help you get 2012 started in style with the busiest and best brunch in South West London (if not beyond), we’re expecting to be serving up plenty of Bloody Mary’s and Bubbles as well as some kickstart coffee. Then from 2pm it’s the 2nd weekend of our Sunday Roasts, like our brunch we want them to be amazing and the first weekend we rolled them out we smashed it so we’re expecting big things again (we’re all very serious about our Sunday Roasts at the Canteen).

And then it’s Monday and it’s a Bank Holiday… which means we’re doing another full blown brunch service, good times!

Crimbo & New Yr Opening Times

It might not be snowing in Battersea but it’s definitely cold enough to start feeling like Christmas!

Battersea

We’re going to have a very short break over the Crimbo period as we want to keep the Canteen open to you during the holidays. So we’ll be open on Christmas Eve (we’re really looking forward to brunch), then we’re going to take a short break before opening up again as normal on the morning of the 29th. If you haven’t made your NYE plans then our format is pretty simple, we’re doing brunch and then a simple dinner menu until 8pm when we’re doing an amazing 3 course meal to see in 2012 – click here for details about the food and how to book.

  • 30th Dec: Open as normal
  • New Year’s Eve: Brunch, normal dinner till 8pm. NYE Dinner from 8pm, click for details.
  • New Year’s Day: Brunch, Sunday Roasts from 2pm, Dinner from 6pm.
